Uplands Kindergarten is 50 years young

Head Teacher from Uplands Kindergarten

We had a fabulous celebration of 50 years of Uplands Kindergarten yesterday. Thank you to everyone who joined us at church and afterwards in the kindergarten.
Special mention to:
Ken at Pacific Gold for the sausages - so yummy
Craig and his team for cooking them
Bakers Delight Remuera for the bread - so yummy (and Emily for picking up)
Martin for designing one huge cake with 50 candles and another smaller version for the church service. His interpretation of Uplands children's birthday ideas was delightful and very special - rainbow, heart, spider, elephant, unicorn, crocodile - and a quote from Maddie "I love you kindy"
Face Fatale - facepainting and pirate entertainment
Christine and the church hosting team for the set up, hosting and clean up
Our committee - Elliott, Anneliese, Tsana, Christine, Caroline
The teachers - past and present
Our minister Ivan Martinez for a beautiful and interactive celebration in Somervell Church
All our beautiful families - past and present who came and celebrated 50 years of happy memories at Uplands.

Some Choice News!

Kia pai from Sharing the Good Stuff

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.

Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.

Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?

Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!
