I have to give away four indoor plants:
2x Peace Lilies (one small and one quite large, both need a bit of care)
1x Dracaena (Janet Craig) - quite tall, especially good for air cleaning
1x Anthurium
All these are nice plants, if you don't have pet cats or dogs. We got a kitten from SPCA recently, so have to give them away... These are not safe for pets.
If you are interested, send me message, I will let you know where to pick them up from in Glenfield.

She says, "Learning has become so much easier with having online access to all my learning materials and I'm able to study at home. The laptop has helped me focus more on my learning and I find I can complete my learning more easily and it has openned more learning opportuntiies for me."
This year we have partnered with Soroptimist International San Diego to offer this unique education grant in for women on the North Shore who provide the primary financial support for their families. Giving some financial support to further their education, skills and employment prospects in the future.
The recipient may use the funds provided in any way which directly supports her costs to support her to attain higher education skills or formal qualifications. This may include, but is not restricted to fees, books, transport or tuition, therefore enabling the recipient to focus on her studies rather than the challenge of some of the costs involved.
Applications close 15 August.

Restaurant Month is back for another year, set to bolster the Auckland culinary scene by offering discounted dishes and unique events for the entire month of August.
Gastronomes can expect 31 days of specially curated menus at the value-for-money price points of $25, $40 or $55+.
Restaurants included span those from the waterfront to the CBD, and from stalwarts such as Euro, Botswana Butchery and Odettes Eatery, to the newcomers and the underdogs.
Viv Beck, Heart of the City chief executive, said this year’s lineup is “more world-class than ever” thanks to the “inspiring lineup of chefs”, some of whom have recently returned to Auckland from stints overseas.

On 3 May this year, Watercare reported a leak at our property. I employed plumbers to find and repair the leak. The cost was nearly $1000. As it turned out, the leak was Watercare's problem. After 11 weeks and umpteen emails to them, they have failed to reimburse me for my costs.
Phil Goff, in a recent public statement, spoke of Watercare's ''accountability'' and ''responsiveness.'' Watercare's Chief Customer Officer, Amanda Singleton, describes herself as ''a passionate customer advocate'' and being responsible for ''all customer touch points'' (whatever they are) ''in the business.'' After this month's increases to water charges - with yet more to come - it feels as if they're taking us for fools.

It’s a welcome return to New Zealand for the Red Bull Flugtag competition, which last graced our shores in 2004 when it was hosted in Wellington.
The competition will see amateur aviators design, build and then fly contraptions in a bid to be crowned winner.
The thousands of people set to descend upon Wynyard Quarter to see the event are likely to keep business booming for local hospitality hotspots.

They fully deserved to win! There was a queue waiting at lunchtime, but we got the pies within 5 mins. I had a mince and cheese as the Steak and cheese was sold out. The pie was meaty and tasty and I think had some tomato relish added. My husband had a bacon and egg pie which was moist and not overdone. The pastries were baked well and flaky and light. We all enjoyed every scrap!

For example, are fats (lipids) in the blood important? And how they get there in the first place. How does what we eat, exercise, and sleep affect us.
