Pies
We went to try out the Gold Award winning pies inTorbay today. They fully deserved to win! There was a queue waiting at lunchtime, but we got the pies within 5 mins. I had a mince and cheese as the Steak and cheese was sold out. The pie was meaty and tasty and I think had some tomato relish added. My husband had a bacon and egg pie which was moist and not overdone. The pastries were baked well and flaky and light. We all enjoyed every scrap!

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
