FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - A NEW ERA RETURNS IN SUMMER SHOW SEQUEL LAKE HOUSE ARTS
Era and the Carbonauts! “Era is on a mission to reduce our emissions.”
Last summer the very popular family show Era and the Kaitiaki, enabled over 1500 families

to safely see theatre at a new outdoor pavilion at Lake House Arts during Traffic Light Red

Setting.

They learned and had a ball with Era, a young girl learning about Kaitiakitanga

(Guardianship) and recycling in English and Te Reo with the help of some magical friends.

This summer Era and the Carbonauts! follows the further adventures of Era and her

friends-

“In the future, Era meets the mysterious Carbonauts, who send her and Kaitiaki on and

adventure in time to team up with her friends and whanau so they can, through the power of

Kotahitanga (togetherness), save the world!”

Puppets, mask, song and dance, Te Reo Maori and kids in the audience participating in

problem solving are all a part of the magical Era experience.

The show features the acting talents of Alex Medland (Era), Geoff Allen (Tabor, Era’s father)

and Denise Snoad (Kiwi, Wormy and Carbonaut) all returning from last years show while

Adam Burrell (Kaitiaki) and Raj Varma (Kiwi, Wormy, Carboaunt) join the creative team. The

show is written and directed by Grae Burton, with music and lyrics by Peter J. Grahame and

Te Reo translations by Geoff Allen.

Director Grae Burton is very excited to get the next season underway-

“First and foremost Era and the Carbonauts! Is a roller-coaster adventure with catchy

songs, crazy characters and family fun. The original Era and the Kaitiaki was created over

20 years ago, performed all over New Zealand and was revived for a successful and

challenging summer season. For Era and the Carbonauts! we know that families will love

to learn about the power of Kotahitanga (togetherness) and how simple things they can do

every day can really make a difference for the planet we leave our future generations.”

This summer’s season is planned for January 12 - 22, 2023.

Have you ever considered having a boarder?
Are you trustworthy, compassionate, enthusiastic and reliable?
Could you provide a safe and engaging home environment for a girl with a disability?

We are looking for someone to welcome our daughter with additional needs into their home and provide 2-3 overnight stays while she attends a specialist school during the week. Our family of five live on Waiheke and she needs to live close to Wilson school (in Takapuna) as the commute is not a realistic option for her. She is looking for a support carer and buddy to provide a home away from home, where she can laugh, relax and get the personal care support that she needs.

She is a friendly, enthusiastic and engaging girl, who loves baking, dressing up, water play, singing, meditation and chocolate cake. We need someone who can help her with the things most 13 year old’s need help with (dinner, laundry, making sure they are on time for school), plus she needs help with some extra things (like showering, toileting reminders and helping her communicate).

She would come and stay at your place 2 nights a week, so you need to have a warm, safe, smoke free home, where she could have her own space, a lovely meal and someone to engage with before and after school while she is with you. The pay is attractive and you would be paid both for the hours that you provide support to her and an allowance for her boarding in your home. If you would like to know more or think this could be the opportunity you have been looking for then we would love to chat.

If you are interested, please email jobs@flyingkites.org.nz or send me a message

Patrolling regularly an area and being visible while doing so, might convince potential offenders that chances to be caught are too high to even try.
Our approach is preventative: reducing chances for offenders to commit a crime and get away with it will avoid crimes. That's what we do.

We're locals, taking care of our Community. Come with us to patrol our neighbourhood. Get in touch now and ride along with us, give it a try with no obligation.
