Kia Ora Everyone,
I am an essential services worker for last 3 days on my way to work n way back I was observing that we need to change our habits.
Life has changed quite a lot since last couple of months as Covid 19 originated.
We are feeling it for the last 3 days. Most of the people who are following the rules laid by government is a big achievement for all of us. These rules are for us n for our safety.
As a part of community worry for me n for you in coming days will be those people who are ignorant of the devastating effects of the virus n jumping around thinking they are immune. Sorry guys, noone is. It's just a matter of time.
I request these people not to stay outside or get in contact with other people outside their BUBBLE.
Just for a few weeks we have to do this...if we don't want to do it for too long.
If people who are healthy won't go for a walk or for bike ride, I don't think so it will harm them for couple of weeks. Possibly you can do some excercises at home..spend time with other family members.
I have seen kids playing outside touching so many things....can you think what this can lead to??
Suppose someone who was infected with this virus n have coughed or sneezed or touched those railings, n those innocent kids will get the virus if they are going to touch it. Just because of stupid parenting...this will then infect the whole family. n that's how it spread.
Scientists are still unsure how long this virus stays alive on different surfaces. Just for this reason, stay at home for some weeks so at least we all will break the chain. As this virus spreads quick and fast.
This will give a chance to the virus to die as it won't get in contact with anyone else.
We can do certain things:
*Only designate one person to go out to buy groceries.
*Give chance n space to people who need to walk outside due to health issues like diabetic;
*Stay local - meaning in your drive way or max in your street if it's to walk when;
*use all possible hygiene methods for yourself and in your home;
*obey the rules.
May be we don't know each other but we still need everyone...think practically..emotionally any which way you want.
n See the Big picture...We have to do it for our kids, our family, our community, our country n our world.
Please 🙏🙏🙏🙏.....please stay at home...stay safe..
We are in this together. we will fight it together.
Hi Neighbours, It might be raining but the record dry which is depleting Auckland's water supply is not going away in a hurry. Is it "just a dought?": Read the story below:
Being afraid of covid-19 is a normal healthy human reaction but not to the point of any paranoia. A disease which in a few weeks has infected over six million people and killed nearly 400,000 should be a cause for concern. It is that concern, call it fear if you wish, which has brought together all the brains to figure out how to stop it. It is that concern that now drives the world's best scientists to evolve a vaccine some of which are now being tested.
I find it somewhat disturbing that a few people appear to rubbish New Zealand's attempts to protect us from it.
I would urge such people to learn that it needs only one (ONE) infected person among a crowd to initiate a whole new wave of multiple infections. The ease with which it spreads and the variable but often long incubation period make those lockdowns essential. To rubbish our NZ success and the plans of people who really do know what they are talking about is, quite frankly, not intelligent. It is the people that won't listen that I fear far more than covid-19 itself for they will be the spreaders of it. Let's try and make the App for tracing people work as intended. It could make all the difference if an infected person gets among us. Accept the challenge, let's fix it.
Kia ora Auckland, it's time to dust off that old camera, get out and about and show the rest of your neighbours your favourite, treasured spots in your region. It could be an awesome view, the shy wildlife or even the old buildings that are wanting their stories to be told.
Go ahead, get snapping and illustrate what's beyond your backyard.
