Hi neighbours,
This relates to the roadworks (new seal) in Chatswood Auckland. CAR ID number AT-W89503.
Parts of Onetaunga Road and Chelsea View Drive and some side roads were recently resealed with the chip seal.
People living in these streets do not like what was done here and have concerns. Previously very quiet roads are now very, very noisy (vehicle and car tyres), not to mention the nuisance of loose and sticky chip. Now we have the feeling like a motorway was built nearby. We all agree that the roads were in a very good condition before. There are no other roads in this area resealed with a chip seal. The new chip reseal work is also not high quality.

We all think that if new seal was really needed that it should be hot mix (AC). Please note that parts of Onetaunga Road and Chelsea View Drive not resealed are still hot mix, smooth and quiet.

We think that a mistake was made and can easily be corrected. AT can just add another layer of hot mix (AC) on top. This will solve the problem for all of us. We are paying high rates to the council. Once done with a hot mix (AC) these roads will be OK for many years, thus saving money in the long run.

We take this very seriously. These roadworks have caused us a problem and we want it to be resolved.
Let's support each other. Please raise your concerns with the Council and Auckland Transport.

Kind regards

A group of Concerned neighbours

The New Zealand School of Food & Wine will celebrate its 25th Anniversary over the weekend of 14 and 15 March when past students will join Celia Hay, the school's founder, for a series of cooking demonstrations, wine tastings, gala dinner and Pet Nat Masterclass.

Flashback to 1995, Celia Hay had just opened the New Zealand School of Food & Wine (NZSFW) above her restaurant, Hay's in Victoria Street, Christchurch. Twenty-five years later, the NZSFW continues to flourish in Auckland’s Viaduct, with a history that aptly reflects the transformation of New Zealand’s own hospitality, wine and tourism sectors during this time.

With over 20,000 students through its doors, the NZSFW is a leading New Zealand hospitality institution. It's success is built on the quality of programmes that it presents and in 2020, it remains a respected institution, valued by employers and its diverse student body.

Celebration events -
14 March - 9:30 am - 06:00 pm - Cooking Demonstrations & Wine Tastings
14 March - 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm - Celebration dinner
15 March - 10:00 am - 15:00 pm - Autumn Forage

Which 'summer' are you having?

Our skies have been coloured by smoke blown over from the Australian bushfires, meanwhile Wellingtonians are just stoked if they get to see the sun.

How has your summer been?
