Auckland Pop-Up Book Fair returns after Covid-19 setback
New Zealand Red Cross is teaming up with students to host the Auckland Pop-Up Book Fair this November.
The Book Fair will take place at Rangitoto College on November 6 from 9am to 5pm and November 7 from 10am to 4pm.
“The pop-up book fair is an opportunity for local book-lovers to dig through a huge variety of pre-loved books and find themselves a page-turner they simply won’t be able to put down,” Red Cross spokeswoman Nia Oxburgh said.
“All funds raised help support the valuable work New Zealand Red Cross does, both here in Aotearoa and abroad.”
The 2020 event was cancelled due to COVID-19, but in 2019 the event raised over $7,000 dollars.
“We hope, with the support of the local community, we can make this year just as much of a success,” Oxburgh said.

Poll: Are Kiwis allergic to “exuberance”? 🥝
In The Post’s opinion piece on the developments set to open across Aotearoa in 2026, John Coop suggests that, as a nation, we’re “allergic to exuberance.”
We want to know: Are we really allergic to showing our excitement?
Is it time to lean into a more optimistic view of the place we call home? As big projects take shape and new opportunities emerge, perhaps it’s worth asking whether a little more confidence (and enthusiasm!) could do us some good.
