The Kaipatiki Local Board​ is renewing and relocating the playground at Elliott Reserve, Bayview, and would like to hear your opinion on the design, including which of the three play module options you prefer.
The old playground has come to the end of its life, and part of it has been closed for a long time. The Kaipatiki Local Board has been pushing for a new playground for some time, and rejected an earlier design that did not include a play module.

Fortunately, this playground had already been identified for a complete renewal, the Local Board has already signed off the design and budget, and work on the new playground and basketball halfcourt is expected to commence in the next few weeks :)

Major footpath work on Glendhu Road, Bayview

Auckland Transport and their contractor are currently extending the footpath, kerb and channel at the end of Glendhu Road, near the pedestrian bridge (eastern end of the bridge).
Work will be carried out from 7am to 6pm, Monday 13 May to Friday 31 May 2019 (weather permitting).
This job has been prioritised and funded by the Kaipatiki Local Board​, via our Transport Capital fund, and will help to ease flooding and drainage issues due to new developments on the road, ease pressure on this part of Glendhu Scenic Reserve, and make it safer for schoolchildren who are dropped off at the end of the road to attend Bayview Primary School.

Leopard seals become New Zealand residents

Hi neighbours, did you know that leopard seals have been reclassified and are now considered permanent residents? NIWA cetacean biologist Dr Krista Hupman said she was delighted by the change and it meant leopard seals, like Owha, could now safely spend their days sunning on marina pontoons.
