I need my hedge pulled out of the ground

Chris from Hillcrest

I am looking for someone to pull my acmena hedge out of the ground. I have seen this done with a tractor using a chain around each trunk then lifted vertically straight up. The hedge is 20m long, with 23 trunks to pull out of the ground (15-20cm diameter each). The hedge is only 1.5m high. Open mic - for youth (with guardian)

Held at Takapuna Bar (2a Anzac St) - starts from 7:30pm Tuesdays. All ages/experience, it's a general open mic night and has some talented regulars going till late, but thought it was worth letting people know its youth friendly early in the night (with guardian), as we often have a few and some are really talented. It's a good chance to get some performance experience too. Free entry for all.

Hi Neighbours

Our littlest people need your help. Poverty doesn’t start at 5, but until now there’s been no nationwide programme to help preschoolers who are hungry and cold.

KidsCan is changing that. They’re delivering raincoats, shoes and five fresh meals a week to 25 early childhood centres. Attendance is up, and the children are happier and more settled.

"Everyone has the same meal so children don't feel like they have less," Manaia View Kindergarten teacher Kathy Belz says. "It's upholding everyone's mana.”

40 more centres are waiting for help. KidsCan, Stuff and Neighbourly have partnered up to raise enough money to support 1000 more children - and we need 400 more generous Kiwis to hold little hands. To support a child, sign up at KidsCan.org.nz
