Hi neighbours, there are three new MPs for North Shore suburbs. National's Simon Watts will replace Maggie Barry in the North Shore electorate, Vanushi Walters, from Labour, beat National candidate Jake Bezzant for Paula Bennett's former seat in Upper Harbour, which includes Glenfield, and Labour's Shanan Halbert beat National incumbent Dan Bidois in Northcote. Sadly, Halbert's dad died on election day.
All seven council-owned splashpads across Tāmaki Makaurau will be open over the summer, despite water restrictions in place due to the drought.
Meanwhile, locals will be pinged for using a hose without the correct nozzle.
The council says splashpads recycle a high percentage of water, and the centres themselves have made significant water savings in the last nine months.
Do you support council turning on splashpads in the drought?

Now that summer's finally here and the holidays are just around the corner for many, we'd love to hear about your favourite summer holiday memories. Has there been a trip that you continue to think about years later? Where did you go, with who and what did you get up to? What made it such a stand-out experience? As usual, please put 'NFP' in your comment if you don't want it included in a travel article. Cheers.
