Kawai Purapura offers a tranquil and peaceful environment on a stunning 19-acre property of bush and streams for those wishing to live in an eco-friendly and conscious community of like-minded people. We currently have around 90 residents in our holistic village, including a rich and diverse community of natural therapy students, practitioners, artists, musicians and environmentalists.
10 mins drive from the Harbour bridge, 10 min walk to Massey university. You can work/study in the city and arrive home to bush walks, glow worms and native birds. What's not to like? But wait...there's more... Kawai Purapura also offers myriads of opportunities for ‘self’ time to re-connect with nature, relax or meditate with its bush walks, magical glow worm spots and stream paths.
There is a 25 meter non-chlorine swimming pool, free morning yoga classes Mon-Fri and use of the organic community garden. Kawai Purapura is also a Retreat Centre. As a resident you get a discount on community classes, venue hire, festival tickets, yoga retreats, yoga teacher training and the Maori healing course. They are also lots of free monthly community gatherings like: open mic night, kirtan night and the full moon drumming circle. There are a couple of shared weekly meals; a vegan community meal and a Hare Krishna meal.
There are a variety of accommodation choices available, largely with shared bathrooms and kitchens. Prices range from $150. Please note: Kawai Purapura is a smoke, drug and alcohol free environment.
