Smallholders'Auction

Ron from Ashhurst - Pohangina

The Ashhurst and Pohangina Lions Club is celebrating the 40th year of their annual Smallholders Auction.
Our next auction will be held on 26 January 2019 at the usual site of: Macdonald farm 682 Pohangina Road Ashhurst

This is a great opportunity for everyone to take part in this community event and, at the same time, clear out those unwanted items.

Weird, wonderfully odd, useful and used items will be going under the hammer. Drop off of chattels is from 2.00 till 7.00pm on Friday, and livestock from 6.30am till 9.30am on Saturday. Auction starts 10am Saturday.

There will be 1000's of items for the home, farm and garden going under the hammer, plus ducks, chooks, sheep and small animals

Food and drink stalls, arts and crafts, rides and a bouncy castle for the children make this a great family day out.

All proceeds raised will benefit future community projects and everyone attending can support their local community, either by buying or selling.

Diabetes New Zealand will be the recipients of the gold coin donation for entry this year

We would like to give a huge thanks to all our sponsors for their support in making this auction possible.

Looking forward to seeing you all on the day!

For more information regarding our auction or to become a stall holder please contact our coordinator Ron Farrugia at smallholders@yahoo.co.nz or 063269639 or 0273262380

Some Choice News!

Kia pai from Sharing the Good Stuff

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.

Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.

Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?

Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!
