Health warning for gardeners
A health warning has been issued for gardeners after a Dunedin man died from Legionnaires' disease less than a week after handling potting mix.
People are advised to watch for signs of legionellosis, with early symptoms (similar to the flu), appearing two-ten days after exposure.
Gardeners are reminded to take extra care when handling potting mix, soils or compost. Click here for more advice.
