Featherston's C'est Cheese
C’est Cheese is an institution, not only in its local Featherston community but in the greater Wellington region and around the country. One of the few cheese shops focused almost exclusively on New Zealand products, it boasts an impressive range of cheeses made from Northland to North Otago, including in the factory out the back.
It is, says owner Paul Broughton, “a real example of what happens when a hobby gets out of control”.
In 2012, Broughton was working in commercial property in Wellington when he started thinking about getting off the corporate train to turn cheesemaking from something he did in his spare time into a fulltime job.
