$30m cultural and arts centre proposed for Porirua.
Do you support a $30m cultural centre for Porirua?
Ratepayers are being asked to give their views on the idea as part of Porirua City Council's draft Long-term Plan (LTP) 2021-2051 which is out for consultation until April 27.
Should the project – which the council plans to be debt-funded to the tune of $24m – get the green light, the average rates bill would increase by $101.54 a year from 2024/2025.
Say goodbye to tyre waste
About 40% of the 6.5 million tyres Kiwis use every year are recycled, repurposed, or used as tyre-derived fuel. But the rest end up in landfills, stockpiled or dumped.
The good news is now there’s an easy solution to all that tyre waste. It’s called Tyrewise and is New Zealand’s first national tyre recycling scheme.
Tyrewise ensures that tyres in Aotearoa New Zealand are recycled or repurposed properly, saving millions from going to the landfill.
