Hackers and thieves

Philip from Tirohanga

When selling an item and receiving a response stating that a courier company is acting as an intermediary, and you have to provide your information to receive payment. This is a method to trick you! The hacker lock into your account and your account is cleaned out.
When you buy something especially on marketplace and the seller request upfront payment and will only provide a pickup address once the payment is visible in their account, rather walk away. They take your payment and pretend that they have no previous correspondence from you. I had an unfortunate experience with a person selling bird netting in Birchville Upper Hutt. He did not want to give me any more information after payment has been done and pretend that he doesn't recall any messages from me prior.

Poll: Would you participate in local initiatives aimed at stopping plastic from reaching our oceans?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

Volunteers will be scouring the foreshore, riverbanks, and islands for rubbish on Saturday the 13th as part of the Clean Up the Hutt event.

This initiative helps stop plastic from reaching our oceans and makes our waterways cleaner and safer for everyone.

We want to know: Should this be rolled out across all coastal cities in Aotearoa? And more importantly… would you get involved? 💚

Want the details? The Post has you covered.
