Author Bio: Jackie has been writing fiction since she was eleven years old. Mild mannered fantasy/SF/pseudo-literary writer by day, obsessive romance writer by night, she used to balance her writing with the more serious job of librarianship until a chance meeting with another romance writer prompted her to throw off the shackles of her day job and devote herself to the true love of her heart - writing romance. First published in 2013, she has now released more than 70 books (and counting!).
Parking: please be careful where you park because Mt Eden Rd heading south is a clearway until 7pm. Parking is available in the Essex Road public card park (free after 6pm), in the side-streets (no time limits after 6pm) and on Mt Eden Rd heading north. For more parking information, please visit www.mounteden.co.nz....
Bring along a reusable cup: weβll serve complimentary cups of tea and iced tea.

BOOK PEOPLE
You have to break some rules to write your own storyβ¦
When Kate, a fledgling bookseller, decides to open a bookshop that celebrates the kinds of genre fiction she loves to read (popular and fun!), sheβs surprised to find that not everyone in the town is as excited as she is.
Least excited of all? Sebastian, owner of the highbrow bookshop across the road, who has rules for everything: the kind of books he sells, the clothes he wears, and the people he dates (no-one local).
When the pair find themselves working together on the townβs literary festival, their growing attraction becomes harder and harder to ignore. Professional rivalry aside, just one steamy kiss canβt mean anything, can it?

Poll: Are Kiwis allergic to βexuberanceβ? π₯
In The Postβs opinion piece on the developments set to open across Aotearoa in 2026, John Coop suggests that, as a nation, weβre βallergic to exuberance.β
We want to know: Are we really allergic to showing our excitement?
Is it time to lean into a more optimistic view of the place we call home? As big projects take shape and new opportunities emerge, perhaps itβs worth asking whether a little more confidence (and enthusiasm!) could do us some good.
