Cheese Making Workshop

Riverside Milk

Thursday, 27th March, 6pm to 8pm at Riverside Community in Lower Moutere.

Join seasoned Cheese Maker Tanja Pauls for a workshop on making a mild Swiss-style hard cheese that ripens in just a few weeks. With decades of experience, Tanja has helped many participants successfully create their own cheese at home, emphasising a simple and enjoyable approach to food.

In this 2-hour session at our commercial kitchen, Tanja will prepare cheese in advance for sampling. You'll also make Paneer and learn valuable tips from renowned raw milk cheese-maker David Asher, shared during his visit last year.

This workshop will boost your confidence to replicate the cheese-making process at home and encourage ingredient experimentation. Demonstrations is blended with hands-on activities, allowing for both engagement and relaxation.

Bring a friend and an appetite, and leave with a newfound inspiration to make cheese in your very own kitchen!

Limited to 12 participants. $35 total per participant. Bookings close Tuesday, 25th March at 2pm. Book here: www.riverside.org.nz...

This workshop is proudly sponsored by the Riverside Community Trust. Please contact Tanja (at education@riverside.org.nz) for workshop questions or to ask about sponsorship options.

Please note that we will be using Riverside Milk, which is RAW milk and may not be suitable for everyone's consumption. The Ministry of Primary Industries advises the following: ‘Raw milk may contain microorganisms that can cause serious illness. To reduce the risk of illness, raw milk should be heated to at least 70 degree Celsius for one minute. This is critical for infants, young children, the elderly, pregnant women and people with weakened immune systems.’
