Local Body Election 2024 for Lambton Ward

Local Body By Election for Lambton Ward. Due to a councillor standing down, there is a By Election for a ward councillor. While only a small part of northern Brooklyn are eligible to vote, GBRAI are not intending to run an election meeting. However, we strongly urge people do do research on the candiates - or even better - attend the Candidates Meeting organised by our fellow residents association Inner City Wellington. they will host the meeting, as described below, at St Peters Church on Willis Street bewtween 6.00pm to 73.0pm on Thursday 25th January.

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.

Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.

Poll: Would you participate in local initiatives aimed at stopping plastic from reaching our oceans?

Volunteers will be scouring the foreshore, riverbanks, and islands for rubbish on Saturday the 13th as part of the Clean Up the Hutt event.

This initiative helps stop plastic from reaching our oceans and makes our waterways cleaner and safer for everyone.
