nelson city

Annette from Wakefield

was just reading today in the paper about the ideas for nelson city .ha ha i cant believe or wonder way people think having apartments in the city will bring people into town .We only have to look at the state house area where those not all that live their have no respect for where they live it becomes a dumping ground is that what the city really wants .hell we cant even get the right people to mow the grass verge or look after the gardens into the city coming back into nelson the other day it looks dirty ,lawns not mowed garden well they aren't garden they are weeds they cant even be bothered to mow and nelson city want more of this .just madness .green areas aren't the answer seating in town yes they have enough trees and flowers as it is but the town needs a good clean up new paint jobs on some of the buildings more parking and better areas for the young .nothing to do with drinking or that's the next problem we will have bashings glory .maybe seeing the cops on the beat like they use to on a Friday and Saturday night .Eatery's well we have plenty of those we don't need consultants cause that will cost money I'm sure people who live here can give you better ideas and cheaper ideas as well .art work ,chess games there must be something that would help bring people in to the city .after all Richmond is hoping

Poll: Would you want an unconventional funeral?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

Funerals can cost as much as $22,000 and the planning can be stressful especially at a time when loved ones are grieving. Some New Zealanders are re-imagining funerals by making their own coffin or having a relaxed ceremony at home. Would you want a less traditional funeral? Share your thoughts below.

Type 'Not For Print' if you wish your comments to be excluded from the Conversations column of your local paper.

Library Closure

Ron from Motueka

I wonder what goes on in the heads of the TDC personal when they spend $5 million on the new Motueka Library and are now talking about closing it on weekends when staff are sick and possibly 1 week day With winter just round the corner days getting colder the library is a meeting place the only place where one can go on a cold day to read borrow books or attend on of the many gatherings that are alway on in the library
Perhaps they should have not built the library as the old building sits empty and given themselves a big bonus for running the TDC as a vibrant council
When will these people pull there head out of the sand and run the council as a successful business as a not as a group of infants
We as those who like to live in this area its time to wake up and get rid of this riffraff and elect people who know how to run local bodies successfully
