New Little Library

Barbara from Melville

There’s a new little library in Urlich Ave, Melville. Look for the colourful fridge on our front lawn, not far from the shops. Plenty of ‘cool’ books for all - picture books, older kids, adult fiction and non-fiction.
You’re welcome to take a book or two, no need to swap if you don’t have one to give, we’d just like to share the love of reading.
We’ll keep the library well stocked and would love donations to help with that. We’ll keep the selection fresh, so have a look whenever you pass.
At the moment there is no through traffic on Urlich Ave due to road works, so if you’re driving you’ll need to come off Ohaupo Rd. On the plus side, the road is much quieter than usual!

Have you been to Hamilton Gardens lately?

Poll: Are Kiwis allergic to “exuberance”? 🥝

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

In The Post’s opinion piece on the developments set to open across Aotearoa in 2026, John Coop suggests that, as a nation, we’re “allergic to exuberance.”

We want to know: Are we really allergic to showing our excitement?

Is it time to lean into a more optimistic view of the place we call home? As big projects take shape and new opportunities emerge, perhaps it’s worth asking whether a little more confidence (and enthusiasm!) could do us some good.
