FREE YOGA at the Auckland Botanic Gardens

Angeli from Manurewa

Dear neighbours,

Yoga is coming to South Auckland and it's official! It will be for FREE!

I am on a mission to make this beautiful ancient practice available to everyone who always wanted to try it out, but hesitated for various reasons.

Feel free to join now. We will practice together every Saturday morning at 9am. Meet-up is at 8:45am next to the main entrance by the water and will walk to a nice shady spot from there.

If you are a beginner, new to yoga and want to move your body, this practice is for you!

This is the link to the event to let me know you are coming: yogandthegarden.eventbrite.co.nz...

Otherwise feel free to join without RSVP, but remember to put it into your calendar and to tell all your friends and family about it! :)

So looking forward to practicing with you!

With love,
Angeli

PS: BYO mat and an open heart and mind! :)
Also any ages are welcome. Please let me know if you have any previous injuries I need to be aware of. I always offer modifications.

Who am I?

Hi, I am Angeli, a Yoga Teacher and a mum of my one year old son. I live in South Auckland with my family, however I am originally from Germany with Indian background. What I am most passionate about is to inspire and support everyone who surrounds me to live a healthier, happier and more joyful life. I live and breath for self-development and am always curious to find out ways to get to know myself more. I am here to bring Yoga close to everyone who needs it and I believe that a little bit of Yoga for everybody could actually change the world to the better. I am on a mission! :)

Poll: Are Kiwis allergic to “exuberance”? 🥝

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

In The Post’s opinion piece on the developments set to open across Aotearoa in 2026, John Coop suggests that, as a nation, we’re “allergic to exuberance.”

We want to know: Are we really allergic to showing our excitement?

Is it time to lean into a more optimistic view of the place we call home? As big projects take shape and new opportunities emerge, perhaps it’s worth asking whether a little more confidence (and enthusiasm!) could do us some good.

Some Choice News!

Kia pai from Sharing the Good Stuff

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.

Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.

Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?

Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!
