Survey on affordable housing closing Sunday
More than 200 people have so far taken the opportunity to give feedback on what Central Otago Council’s role in affordable housing should be.
The council has been considering whether it has a role in the development of affordable housing. To help guide the council’s decision, a survey has been running for a month to gather community views. It closes on Sunday (June 5).
As of Monday morning, 213 surveys had been completed, mostly from residents in the Vincent and Cromwell wards.
The survey invites respondents to comment on how they feel about the council supporting the development of affordable housing in Central Otago, and how they feel about a proposal by the Central Otago Affordable Housing Trust for the council to gift one third of any of its residential developments for the trust to set up a secure homes model.
Community feedback will be considered at the council's July 13 meeting.
