Sponsor a plank and save Governors Bay Jetty!
A heads-up that the minimum donation for "sponsor a plank" is going up after 31 January 2022, so sponsor yours now for $500: www.savethejetty.org....
We recognise plank sponsors with their name or short message on a plaque on "their" plank. Mock-up of your plank and/or a gift certificate available on request.
Our goal is to get every plank sponsored by July and start the rebuild in August. So far, we have 292 planks sponsored (thank you to everyone who has sponsored their plank already) and 1208 still available.
To see a scale model of the new jetty's design, displaying the number of planks sponsored, go to Harbour House cafe, Main Road, Governors Bay.
If you have any questions, email me (Louisa Eades, Secretary of Governors Bay Jetty Restoration Trust) at savethejetty@gmail.com.

Poll: Are Kiwis allergic to “exuberance”? 🥝
In The Post’s opinion piece on the developments set to open across Aotearoa in 2026, John Coop suggests that, as a nation, we’re “allergic to exuberance.”
We want to know: Are we really allergic to showing our excitement?
Is it time to lean into a more optimistic view of the place we call home? As big projects take shape and new opportunities emerge, perhaps it’s worth asking whether a little more confidence (and enthusiasm!) could do us some good.
