My Simple Thing...Feelings
My simple things is nature at its best, and I have put my words into poetry. Feelings
Feelings
Soft winds caress my skin, as I look to heaven above,
Trees are whispering swoosh swoosh, and from a branch flies a dove;
With white wings spread circling around, suddenly darting to the ground-
where searching there amongst the leaves a feast of insects found.
A little path leads to a stream and tiny fishes can be seen,
darting here and there, they glide along without a care.
The bark and twigs beneath my feet, crackle and snap and wake from sleep.
The pungent smell of bush and grass waft up to greet me as I pass -
through forest thick, neglected, desolate but calm and almost welcoming
they feel the presence of a being pressing on, wandering without reason,
And I am left with feelings of wonderous magic created as if in a dream.'
Some Choice News!
Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?
Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!
