The Team from Aro Valley Community Centre

Don't miss out on the iconic Aro Valley Community Council "Meet the Candidates" evening.

The election cycle has gotten VERY interesting and this is an evening you don't want to miss - Get answers from local electorate candidates on the questions that are important to you!

The doors will be open from 7:00pm.

The event is a great chance to meet the Wellington Central candidates. Each candidate will be given some time to speak and then it's from the floor question time.

In true Aro Valley, style water pistols are part of the action for those candidates who can't stick to their time limit. Let's hope the candidates remember their waterproofs!

Representing Wellington Central we have:
- James Shaw - Green Party
- Abe Gray - The Opportunities Party
- Nicola Willis - National Party
- Grant Robertson - NZ Labour Party

NB: More candidates to be added pending confirmation

Poll: Would you participate in local initiatives aimed at stopping plastic from reaching our oceans?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

Volunteers will be scouring the foreshore, riverbanks, and islands for rubbish on Saturday the 13th as part of the Clean Up the Hutt event.

This initiative helps stop plastic from reaching our oceans and makes our waterways cleaner and safer for everyone.

We want to know: Should this be rolled out across all coastal cities in Aotearoa? And more importantly… would you get involved? 💚

Want the details? The Post has you covered.

Some Choice News!

Kia pai from Sharing the Good Stuff

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.

Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.

Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?

Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!
