Unwanted wool
A group of us (mainly older ladies) knit blankets, gloves, scarves, jumpers etc., for a charity called 'Mission Without Borders' (non-denominational). All our work goes to poor countries such as Moldova and Romania but also to other poor countries roundabout. If anyone has left over wool - part balls, odd balls, etc - anything is gratefully received - that are willing to donate, we would love to have it. It's a good feeling knowing that needy people are benefiting from our 'left-overs' and from our handiwork. I am happy to pick any wool up or to arrange for it to be picked up. Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
