Polystyrene in the stream!
Hi Neighbours - an urgent plea to everyone who regularly walks alongside the Waiwhetu stream, especially the day of rubbish collection...if you see any pieces of polystyrene packaging please pick it up and place in a bin before it gets blown into the stream.
I collected this piece yesterday that someones dog had chewed into small bits... As you all know this stuff is virtually indestructible and once it makes it into the stream we find it broken into tiny bits along the waterway. Friends of Waiwhetu Stream do a wonderful job picking up rubbish the first weekend of every month, but its quite soul destroying to try and retrieve these tiny white balls which have often been in the water for years. And of course once they make it to the sea the fish cant tell what it is. It would really help if everyone kept an eye open for it..
Thanks!

Speed limits around NaeNae
Hi Neighbors, Just a heads up, I have just received a $170 fine for driving at 50km on Rata Street Naenae on a SUNDAY Morning. I wrote to NZTA pointing out and sending in a photo of sign stating that it was 30km on school days between those hours, but they said that the whole of Rata Street and some surrounding streets are 30km 24/7 and have been for over a year. Did I miss this been advised by council? Always good to be informed. Merry Christmas to all
