Poll: Should Hamilton have a fund for de-sexing stray cats?
Hamilton City Council has a $100,000 plan to stop stray moggies from breeding.
City councillors voted for an annual grant to de-sex stray or abandoned cats around the city.
It has won praise from SPCA chief executive Andrea Midgen: "It's a real top of the cliff strategic move by the Hamilton City Council - it's just amazing."
Paws 4 Life's Rachael Maher said the group had taken 1500 cats and kittens off the streets in the past year.
