Severe wind warning - Tararua district
A front moves northeast over the South Island and lower North Island during today, with west to southwesterly gales affecting exposed parts of central and southern New Zealand.
Strong wind gusts could damage trees, powerlines and unsecured structures. Driving may be hazardous, especially for high-sided vehicles and motorcycles.
Area: The Tararua District
Valid: 8 hours from 1:00pm to 9:00pm Thursday
Forecast: Westerly winds becoming severe in exposed places, with gusts reaching 130 to 140km/h.
