Power outage affecting customers in the Ponsonby area
We wanted to let you know that we’re aware of the power outage affecting customers in the Ponsonby area.
This is related to an outage in the same area earlier this week. Our repair crew located the issue on an underground cable and as part of the repair process, moved affected customers onto different feeders in the area to restore their power. Unfortunately, a separate outage occurred and some customers lost power for a second time.
Our crew is ready to carry out repairs and we’re currently working through access permissions with local business owners in order to do that. We estimate we will be able to progressively restore power to customers from midday today.
We advise you to switch off all sensitive electrical equipment for the duration of the outage. Please remember, for your own safety, to treat all wiring and sockets as live at all times.
If you use medical equipment that relies on electricity you should let your retailer know and ensure you are prepared for power disruption. If there is an immediate health threat, please contact your health provider or call 111.
We apologise for the inconvenience and we thank you for your patience and co-operation while we get the job done.
