Spark scam warning
Had a phone call yesterday from what appeared to be a local number 078475957, automated voice telling me my internet would be disconnected that day. Select 1 to confirm receiving the message, select 2 if i have questions. Didn't select any numbers and the call ceased a bit later without any dialogue. Called Spark, they did checks on my account and confirmed they had not attempted to make contact with me and that this was a scam, had I pushed either number the chance of being hacked was very high. Beware.
If you experience, Spark Incident call investigations centre (unwanted calls or scam) call 0800 809806 8am-6.30pm Mon-Fri, or call 123 after hours. The more info they have from customers the quicker they can track down the perpetrators. I was advised the police are aware/involved also.
Some Choice News!
Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?
Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!
