The Wednesday morning Raku class with R. Edgar starting on Wednesday 17th from 10am to 12pm. Raku is an exciting firing technique where the bisqued pot gets heated in a gas / raku kiln quickly, then dropped red hot glowing into sawdust and smothered, to create intricate iridescent patterns.

Jim will focus on basic throwing plus assisting in hand building, sprigging, and stamp making.
This is a mixed class, with both experienced students and beginners.
For this class you will need to bring your own clay, Jim has recommended you buy earthenware or white (midfire), 5 to 10 kg depending on what you would like to make.
