Help for Hutt Valley families experiencing domestic abuse

Hutt City Women's Refuge

Domestic violence is a pervasive, life-threatening crime that impacts 1 out of 3 women and families in the Hutt Valley. Please help us help the victims.

Our collectors will be in the streets receiving your generous donations for Hutt City Women’s Refuge (6-8 July) and Kōkiri Marae Māori Women's Refuge (19-20 July). Donate online, or text 4327 to give $3 to Hutt City Women's Refuge.

Hutt City Women’s Refuge needs your help to be able to continue our wraparound services for women and families experiencing family violence.

Services include:
- 24 / 7 Crisis Line – 0800 REFUGE (0800 733 843)
- Advice, advocacy and support for those experiencing domestic violence

Some Choice News!

Kia pai from Sharing the Good Stuff

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.

Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.

Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?

Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!
