The Naturopathic College of New Zealand is based at 21-23 Devon St East, New Plymouth and throughout the year we are looking for clients for our Diploma of Nutrition and Diploma of Naturopathy students. These clinical consultations are designed to fine tune and evaluate student consultation skills, and to increase their knowledge and confidence. The consultations are totally confidential and free of charge.
A consultation takes between 90 and 120 minutes, in which the student will discuss your health concerns and associated health objectives, as well as gather information about your present and past health, lifestyle, and nutritional, social and emotional factors. Clinical tests may also be conducted. The student would then outline a comprehensive and individualised treatment plan, with recommendations for nutritional changes, natural health remedies and supplements where appropriate.
The consultations are supervised by college tutors who are qualified and experienced practitioners.
If you are interested in a Clinical Consultation, and are willing to make changes in your life to achieve positive good health, please contact:
Maggie Macnamara - Nutrition Programme Lead or
Annemarie Wissema - Naturopathy Programme Lead
We have upcoming opportunities for clinical consultations, specifically for a student Naturopathy workshop in June, so please get in contact very soon.

Poll: Are Kiwis allergic to “exuberance”? 🥝
In The Post’s opinion piece on the developments set to open across Aotearoa in 2026, John Coop suggests that, as a nation, we’re “allergic to exuberance.”
We want to know: Are we really allergic to showing our excitement?
Is it time to lean into a more optimistic view of the place we call home? As big projects take shape and new opportunities emerge, perhaps it’s worth asking whether a little more confidence (and enthusiasm!) could do us some good.

Some Choice News!
Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?
Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!
