It’s time for you to have your say on how you are represented by Council.

Council is running a survey on a number of issues including whether to keep, change or discard the current ward system, how many councillors should represent the city and whether community boards and panels should be retained. The survey closes on 16 April.

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.

Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
