Pet safety in this hot weather

Hi everyone, I don't know about you guys, but I felt sick hearing about the 26,000 chickens dying in our recent on going hot weather. I'm not having a go at this poor person who lost these chickens, I just think it's a timely reminder to us all. I have a couple of rabbits who really love to lick a frozen bottle of water or a large ice cube. I just add water to a small - medium container freeze it & wow they love licking it. I do the same sort of thing for our chickens. I add a frozen bottle of water to each of their water containers & they really love the cooler water. As for my border collie Buddy, he loves crunching ice cubes, loves having cool showers & loves the multiple shadey areas he has access to. Buddy & the chickens & the rabbits (inside their 3 teir enclosure) love hanging out in the cool areas. I have a saying "if you are hot & bothered & reaching for that cold drink, think about our pet friends who are also hot & bothered, also needing some cool relief". Hey have a safe one.

Hi Neighbors, Just a heads up, I have just received a $170 fine for driving at 50km on Rata Street Naenae on a SUNDAY Morning. I wrote to NZTA pointing out and sending in a photo of sign stating that it was 30km on school days between those hours, but they said that the whole of Rata Street and some surrounding streets are 30km 24/7 and have been for over a year. Did I miss this been advised by council? Always good to be informed. Merry Christmas to all
