A bit of information about lavender
Why plant lavender?
It's highly attractive, fragrant and is a great bee attracting flower. Having lavender in your garden will aid the pollination of fruit trees and fruiting vegetables. It can be used fresh or dried. Lavender is often used in pot pouri and oils. It can help with depression.
How to plant lavender
Great for hedges! Lavender can be planted individually or en masse, in the ground or in containers. You can plant the same variety or a variety of different ones for added interest and colour.
Don't forget that lavender is a perennial, meaning it comes back year after year, making it a low maintenance plant that is great value for money.

Some Choice News!
Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?
Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!
