Scam Calls

Tina from Melville

Hi all. I received a new SCAM call the other night from a man whom claimed to be calling from the Government. He said that we had overpaid tax and would receive $6,300 refund as 200 people had been randomly selected. I questioned him and said obviously you are calling from IRD. I expect I will receive a confirmation letter from them to confirm. He got quite muddled and then said oh dear oh my and hung up. Whats the bet that the next question would have been what is your bank account number. I was immediately suspicious when he said he was calling from the Government. How ridiculous. It was kind of fun though. So beware everyone.

Kia pai from Sharing the Good Stuff

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.

Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.

Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?

Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!
