Last chance to get free curtains!
If you live in Wainuiomata, have a Community Services Card, and need curtains, go to the Wainuiomata Community Centre today!
Wellington Curtain Bank is giving free curtains to people who need them. Go to the community centre to pick up a form, take it home to measure your windows and bring your form back by Friday, August 18th. We make the curtains especially to fit your window, and then drop them back to the community centre for you to take home and hang.
Curtains keep the heat in, the cold out and the power bills down. To find out more go to the event on Facebook, call 0508 78 78 24 x 705, or head to the community centre at 1A Queen Street.

Some Choice News!
Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?
Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!
