Are you planning to watch any of the Southland Buskers Festival?

Reporter The Eye

Clowning around in Queens Park would usually sound like a disruptive activity, but next month those clowns will be welcomed to Invercargill with open arms, and some people may even throw money at them.
Performers for the Southland Buskers Festival will descend on Invercargill at the beginning of February and those working behind the scenes say they are looking forward to the eighth annual festival.
Festival organiser Jodi Wright said many of the performers jumped at the opportunity to head to Invercargill because of the beautiful Queens Park location and the chance to be at the bottom of New Zealand.

Poll: Would it be worth investing more money to open the museum in stages?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

🎉 Exciting news for Southland! We’re getting a brand new museum – the Te Unua Museum of Southland!

⏳ The not-so-great news? It’s still a little way off. The Invercargill City Council has decided to wait until the museum is fully finished in late 2027 before opening, instead of opening parts early at extra cost.

We want to hear from you: Would it be worth investing more money to open the museum in stages, even if it costs more, or is waiting for the full experience the better option?
