SUNDAY AFTERNOON CONCERT - KATHERINE AUSTIN & HYEIN KIM

Katherine Austin (piano) has played around the world and throughout NZ. She has also attracted a large class of Doctoral students currently studying for DMA with her.
In this concert she will accompany the stellar young cello player Hyein Kim, a cellist who has already won several competitions including most recently, Hyein was awarded 1st prize in the Michael Hill National String Competition.
When: Sunday 26th May at 2pm
Where: St Georges Church, Mackay st Thames
Entry: General $20; TMG members $15 Students under 16 free.

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.

Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
