Sea Level Rise Study to Focus on Thames
Eminent climate scientist Prof. Tim Naish visited Thames recently and announced that the Thames foreshore will be a focus a $7 million research program called NZSeaRise. He confirmed that research will focus on Thames because it has one of the highest rates of subsidence in New Zealand as measured by survey, GPS and InSAR (satellite). This adds to the magnitude of the overall rise in sea-level locally and may increase the sea and groundwater flood risks to the township. Read more at teggtalk.wordpress.com...
