Update on sand-works at Matapōuri Bay
The storm surge in May changed the route of the channels in the estuary, preventing access to consented sand extraction areas.
Work stopped and Whangarei District Council applied for a variation to the resource consent for works to continue. The resource consent has now been approved, so work on the project can begin again and should be completed this month.
