Update on Bream Bay water supply

Online Content Publisher from Whangarei District Council

Following the shut-down of the Ruakaka treatment plant earlier last week the reservoirs are slowly refilling. The water being distributed to One Tree Point may have an unpleasant earthy taste but it is safe to drink. Putting water in the fridge should improve the taste. However, if taste and odour problems persist please call Council on 09 430 4200 and we can organise for the lines in your street to be flushed as soon as we have sufficient water to do so – expected to be early this week.
We apologise for any inconvenience and thanks again for your understanding.

Some Choice News!

Kia pai from Sharing the Good Stuff

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.

Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.

Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?

Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!
