In between our productions, we carry out a variety of housekeeping and maintenance tasks, as well as stocktaking for our annual accounts purposes for financial year end.
We are planning a Working Bee to paint, refurbish, declutter, uplift carpet for repairs, take stock counts, manhandle materials to a nearby skip or trailers (whichever we can organise) for removal to the tip and generally tidy up and prepare for our 2020 season.
If you have an hour or two, our Committee will gratefully welcome your offer of help, muscle, wheelbarrow or towed trailer.

Saturday, January 18 at 10.00am

Please phone 027 438 2736 or email octagon.member@gmail.com for further details or to offer assistance, particularly with any offers of use of towed trailer.

Iwi Te Roroa was alerted to the 10 metre whale by police about 7.30am on Tuesday. Sadly, the whale had already passed away by the time they reached it.
The Department of Conservation said it would work with the iwi to establish what would happen to the whale's body. That could involve flensing - to remove blubber from the carcus - or a burial.
Iwi Te Roroa told Stuff it intended to bury the whale at the next low tide.
