Plastics type 5 now accepted for kerbside recycling

Oliver Neighbourly Lead from One Tree Point

As reported in the Council News on page 15 of today's Whangārei Leader plastics type 5 (polypropylene, PP) are now accepted for kerbside recycling.
Detailed information about what can be recycled and how to do it properly can be found on WDC's website, on the Weekly rubbish and recycling collection page in the "What can I recycle?" section.
This change brings our district closer to the proposed improvements to household kerbside recycling, which suggest to collect plastics 1, 2 and 5 nationwide, so it's a great step forward.
