Voting packs are arriving! Check your letterbox and read the voting instructions carefully.
Here's what's in your pack:
1️⃣ Instructions and candidate information (this is for both Northland Regional Council (NRC) and Whangarei District Council (WDC)
2️⃣ Your voting paper - you'll rank candidates for WDC mayor and your Ward Councillor (STV), tick your candidate for NRC, and tick your answer for the Māori Ward poll.
3️⃣ Envelopes - seal up your completed voting form and bring it to a ballot box or a post box. Post your vote by Tuesday 7 October 2025 or bring it to a ballot box by 12 noon on Saturday 11 October 2025.

The Environmental Protection Authority announced this week that a proposed mine in Central Otago (near Cromwell) is about to enter its fast-track assessment process. A final decision could come within six months, and if it’s approved, construction might start as early as mid-2026.
