Octagon Theatre - Sylvia opens August 29th

Geoff from Central Whangarei

Good people

Tickets are now on sale for the heartfelt comedic play, SYLVIA by A.R. Gurney. It's directed by Paul Dickens-Jacobs and performances are at the Octagon Theatre, 13 Aubrey St Whangarei.

Greg is middle aged and feeling frustrated with life. So, when he finds a stray dog named Sylvia, he becomes deeply attached to her, much to the dismay of his wife, Kate.

Kate's been looking forward to some freedom to travel now that she and Greg's kids have moved out. She's less than thrilled by the canine who sits on her couch and takes Greg’s attention away from his marriage.

So, it's up to Sylvia to use her animal instincts to convince them that she's not a threat, but a new and loving member of their family.

"Sylvia is a playful, sophisticated and sometimes gritty comedy about growing older, finding the best in ourselves and the need for connection in an ever changing world."
- The Times

Performances: Friday 29th August - Saturday 13th September.

Dinner and show $60, Lunch and show $50 or show only $30.
