Geoff from Central Whangarei

Good People

The film night for Thursday 11th September for WFS will be in the Capitaine Bougainville Theatre at Forum North, 7 Rust Ave Whangarei.

At 6pm, WFS will screen THE RETURN starring Ralph Fiennes and Juliette Binoche. Based on Homer's Odyessy, it is a powerful story of a king returning to his family and attempting to unite a fractured nation.

Our 8pm screening is the classic French comedy, Riviera Revenge.

THE RETURN
Italy/UK 2024, Drama, 109 mins
Cast: Ralph Fiennes, Juliette Binoche

Based on Homer's The Odyssey, King Odysseus (Ralph Fiennes) finds himself washed up on the shores of his homeland Ithaca after 20 years away fighting the Trojan War. Now haggard and unrecognizable, Odysseus finds much has changed since he left.

His beloved wife, Penelope (Juliette Binoche), is a prisoner in her own home and hounded by suiters to choose a new husband from amongst them to be king.

Odysseus is no longer the mighty warrior his people remember. But to win back his family and all he has lost, Odysseus resolves to rediscover his strength.

"A beautiful tale of Odysseus as a man who is broken by a war and how he reinvents himself to save his suffering family. Ralph Fiennes and Juliette Binoche are phenomenal." - GM
